At the beginning of my job I bought a new set of tools to leave in the toolbox on my pickup, rather than haul around my 'good tools' I felt more comfortable with a box full of Harbor Freight Pittsburg brand cheapies. To be fair, some of the tools I got work just fine and have their own advantages, for instance the Harbor Freight 24" (600mm) crescent I bought which does get some use. The size of the 600mm pretty much designates it to be used for bolts over 1" so the slight spreading of the jaws is less of an issue.
A colleague of mine refers to adjustable wrenches as Crescent Hammers, which is pretty accurate as they get used a lot for bumping and adjusting. I've also heard Adjustable Hammer, Monkey Wrench (which is usually a reference to a pipe wrench), Crescent Wrench (a trade name)
